The cost of concrete is calculated per cubic meter, not per square foot. The volume of concrete required is what matters, not just the area. The dimensions depend on factors like the ground conditions, load design, and an engineer's calculations. For a typical strip foundation, you'll need a concrete width of 0.6 meters and a thickness of 300 millimeters. To calculate the total volume, multiply the length of the wall by the width and thickness. For a 10-meter fence, the concrete pour would be 1.8 cubic meters.

How quickly does Concrete set?

Concrete sets quickly, so you must act decisively. It remains workable for over an hour, but the exact time depends on the mix and temperature. In hot weather, it sets even faster.  Once concrete starts to harden, there is little time to fix issues. However, a retarder can be used in exceptional cases. We can discuss your specific requirements. Footings may be ready for bricks the day after pouring, but most mixes need two days. Avoid using drives or roads for at least 48 hours and heavy loads, including cars, for seven days or ten in winter. Concrete reaches full strength in around 28 days.

What does the term " Cure" mean in Concrete?
